Fort Boyard
Fort Boyard, the symbol of France 2’s television game show of the same name, was originally built to protect the Rochefort arsenal. At 68 metres long, 31 metres wide and 20 metres high, the fort was designed to withstand a siege, boasting water reservoirs with a capacity of 300,000 litres, ammunition stores, powder magazines, 66 pillboxes and 74 guns. The garrison numbered 260 people, including a canteen woman, a laundry woman and two cobblers.

You may choose from one of two trips that will let you explore Fort Boyard:
- A tour of Fort Boyard, lasting around 2 hours
- A day on the île d'Aix, including a tour of Fort Boyard.
